Alzheimer's disease Program

DIPPAL is a 6 year industrial collaborative integrated project for early daignostics and Pleotherapy of Alzheimer's disease ("DIagnostic Précoce et Pléotherapie de la maladie d'ALzheimer). The three objectives are, in presponse to a clear unmet medical need:

  • To discover and to develop a diagnostic test for the early stage of the disease, in plasma
  • To discover and to develop a new therapeutic solution with the Pleotherapy approach
  • To discover and to develop a companion test for the PleodrugTM (personalized medicine)

The project partners are (1) Pharnext for the therapeutic applications, project leader, (2) Biosystems International for the diagnosis applications, (3) Hospital of Bordeaux, University of Bordeaux and INSERM for clinical expertise and access to clinical samples.

Update on the program:

  • Pharnext identified the complex biological network associatd to Alzheimer's disease
  • Therapeutic targets and drug candidates were listed
  • Screening of drug candidates is ongoing with adapted in vitro and in vivo models. The lead combination is expected by Q4 2011
