- Pharnext discovers and develops new therapeutic solutions (PleodrugsTM) and companion tests for unmet medical needs by using the PleotherapyTM approach.
- PleotherapyTM consists in combining low doses of drugs that are already approved for prescription in man in other indications, to give a PleodrugTM. In contrast to conventional single drugs, these PleodrugsTM act on several modes of the disease networks identified by Pharnext's Nexus process.
- Pharnext patents PleodrugTM candidates.
- The company's drug discovery platform and approach can potentially be applied to any disease, ranging from monofactorial orphan diseases to complex multifactorial diseases (including infectious diseases).
- Pharnext performs all the drug development activities from research to clinical development (no further than the end of Phase II trials) with extensive outsourcing activity, and then licenses the PleodrugTM candidate to industrial partners.
- Pharnext is running its own R&D programs in several major indications, with a special focus on two therapeutic areas (neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic diseases) and target diseases with either niche or large markets (Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1A disease, Alzheimer's disease, type II diabetes, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, neuropathies, etc...). These programs are available for strategic R&D collaborations and licensing.
- In parallel, Pharnext can focus its R&D process on other indications on request by industrial partners.
